HOT VOX Presents: Eckotrigger // Longtide // Lucky Number Seven // Damp Matches // Strange Addiction
The Workshop is a little gem of a discovery underneath The Star in Shoreditch. With an underground hacienda feel, this venue is the perfect setting for bands cutting their teeth on the scene, or those wanting to get up close and personal with the crowd.
https://hotvox.co.uk/artist/eckotrigger/Eckotrigger is an electronic/alternative duo formed in London UK comprising of Producer and Instrumentalist Paul Dogra and Vocalist/Lyricist Joel Alexander – formed based on their shared appreciation and admiration of artists such as Depeche Mode, NIN, The Cure, David Bowie, and The National. Seeking to create music that fuses elements of electronica and alternative rock, and evoking many different musical textures, themes and feelings – they work individually on song ideas and record in Paul’s home studio before additional mixing and production at Fiction Studios in London. Signed with Danish label Town and Towers – in 2023 performed at the Elektroland Festival and Electrofest in Denmark.
Longtide
https://hotvox.co.uk/artist/longtide/Longtide came together like a pack of strays… Cornwall provided a home and in no time at all, a kinship was forged. Connecting through their love of music, the prolific three piece shared ideas and stories that culminated in a sound that not only celebrated their influences but pushed the band to be creative in their own right.
Students of acoustic lows and jarring guitars alike, the band carve intricate vocals through hefty bass lines and dirty, rung out chords with the aim of crafting music to be proud of!
Hand-picked by ‘ BBC MUSIC intoducing …’ the demo track ‘Hurricane’ set the stage for what was to come and the band are currently in recording sessions for their debut single ‘Sleeping Giant’.
Longtide also plan on widening their audience next year with a tour of Ireland and live dates on the UK festival scene.
Lucky Number Seven
https://hotvox.co.uk/artist/lucky-number-seven/Lucky Number Seven is an Alternative Rock band based in Wiltshire, UK. A unique blend of Post-Punk and Neo-Goth sounds, combined with haunting melodies and driving rhythms.
Their single, “Marker Pen,” was named song of the week by Devizine, who described it as a “rollercoaster four minutes full of masterful poignancy.”
Followed up by 2 single releases at the end of summer 2023 – which has crafted their image and persona.
In addition to their acclaimed studio recordings, Lucky Number Seven is known for their powerful live performances. With even a sold out headline show in East London back in September to the O2 Academy Islington (November)
Damp Matches
https://hotvox.co.uk/artist/damp-matches-2/With a unique mash-up of alt-rock, trash-hop and anthemic indie, Damp Matches’ sound would be
as at home at a stadium concert as it is in a grimy small town mosh-pit. Big, punchy riffs and thunderous drum lines set the backdrop for front-woman Helena Lewis’ soaring vocals, complimented often by the hip-hop of bassist Will Calvert. Having built a reputation for putting on raucous, high-energy shows, they are definitely ones to watch on the
UK rock circuit.
Strange Addiction
https://hotvox.co.uk/artist/strange-addiction/Strange Addiction are a two piece band from South London. They have been writing and recording for the past two years. Beautiful, dark sounds, laced with catchy pop choruses, they have been impressing people with their original material and videos on YouTube and have just started gigging around London.
Sonke on Keyboards programming and production. Anna on Vocals, shakers and all Strange Addiction artwork and images. Both write and produce their sounds in their studio in South East London. They were lucky enough to use the likes of Eli Irvine (King Kurt) and Anne Stephenson (The Communards and Massive Attack) on some of their recent tracks.
Welcome to the world of Strange Addiction.
