Class of 2023 Graduation ceremonies are in full swing. Are you graduating? It doesn’t matter. Come and celebrate your graduation (or not) with a raucous night at The Star, an intimate venue in the heart of Shoreditch. Five fantastic up and coming bands will take to the stage, each bringing a different variety or pop and rock music. It will be a celebration like no other.

They formed in mid 2021 after studying together at university.
Their catchy hooks and harmonies mixed with classic rock guitars and drums create a great sound that is sure to get you (and the neighbours) jumping.
They have played some great shows, most notably, slots at the O2 Academy Islington, Hoxton Underbelly, and The Horn. Their high energy performances always leaves the crowd wanting more, with many an encore being demanded by audiences at the end of shows.
President Elect

Their pop-rock sound, blending melodic hooks and relatable lyrics with a nostalgic touch of late 90s and early 2000s alternative rock, sets them apart. Produced by Tayte Nickols and mastered by Katie Tavini of Weird Jungle, the band has sold out London venues, rocked UK festivals like Vale Fest, and is gearing up for a promising UK tour. With media acclaim from outlets like Alfitude and BBC Introducing, President Elect is steadily solidifying their status as ones to watch in the music scene.
Brokewater

Forming at university in 2022 the band has been writing and playing a lot of exciting material and they are eagerly anticipating sharing it with you!
Menaura
https://hotvox.co.uk/artist/menaura/Menaura as a band strives to blend the atmospheric and experimental in a rock context to create an intense and beautiful escape for the listeners. Inspired by dynamic Scandinavian landscapes and rainy English nostalgia, their music combines energetic hooks with ambient, dreamy soundscapes. The band was formed in London in 2020, comprising a European mix of members from Sweden, Poland, Norway, England and Italy. Each member’s own creative background contributes heavily to the sound, with significant influences from Deafheaven, Radiohead and Slowdive.
Time of Doubt

The three members: Mutuma (Guitarist/Singer), Otis (Bassist/Singer) and Jon (Drummer), bonded over their love of diverse genres of music, and their desire to channel those influences into their sound. From Arctic Monkeys to Debussy, ZamRock (Zambian Rock) to Techno, the band trys to take any relevant musically ideas, and fuse them into their unique Alt-rock sound.
Their first EP entitled ‘For the Night‘ takes cues from Pop-punk, Grunge, Indie-rock and Hard rock. The band is currently in the process of writing and recording a follow up EP with the hopes of it being even bigger and more adventurous than the first.
